Position Description: 

The laboratory of Dr. Ding Xu at Emory University is seeking motivated postdoctoral scholars to join our highly productive team. The Xu lab employs a highly multidisciplinary approach to investigate the novel functions of heparan sulfate in various bone and cartilage diseases such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, with a special focus on heparan sulfate-binding proteins that play essential roles in these diseases. Prior experience in any of the following areas will be a plus:

  1. Protein expression and purification
  2. Murine disease models
  3. Glycobiology
  4. Histology
  5. Microscopy

The main appeal of joining the Xu lab is the prospect of developing your own projects and obtaining a truly multidisciplinary skill sets, which include biophysics, biochemistry, cell biology, animal disease models and therapeutics development. Dr. Xu is an experienced mentor and is committed to develop trainees to their utmost potential. The starting salary for this position will be between $62,000 to $70,000 and be commensurate with experience.
