Research Description
Postdoctoral and Scientist positions are available at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute at the University of California Santa Barbara campus, in the laboratory of Dr. Jamey Marth to study protein glycosylation in the origins of diseases and syndromes, spanning sepsis, diabetes, autoimmunity, and colitis.   The specific project chosen by the successful candidate will involve research with both mouse genetic models and human patients.  

Candidates must have an M.D. or a Ph.D. in the biological sciences.  Ideal candidates would have experience in current molecular techniques needed for biomedical research, including biochemistry, molecular genetics, cell culture, flow cytometry, histology, mouse husbandry, and other various physiological analyses.  Training will be provided when necessary to include glycosidic linkage analyses.
