Research Description
Postdoctoral and Scientist positions are available at Emory University School of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Sean Stowell to study host interactions with microbial glycans, with opportunities to study innate and adaptive immune engagement of microbial glycans, mechanisms of innate immune lectin-mediated alterations in microbial viability, and the overall impact of these interactions on immune function and infectious disease.  Specific projects chosen by the successful candidate will likely involve research that will include the use of mouse models, microbial genetics and the study of human patients.  

Requirements
Candidates must have a M.D. or a Ph.D. in the biological sciences.  Ideal candidates would have experience in microbiology, in addition to biochemistry, molecular genetics, cell culture and flow cytometry.  Experience in mouse husbandry and immunology is valuable, but training will be provided as needed in these areas.
