A grant-supported postdoctoral position to explore novel aspects of lysosomal and glycobiology, and related disease pathogenesis, using cell-based models is available immediately in the Steet lab within the JC Self Research Institute of the Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC). The GGC is a non-profit clinical, diagnostic and research center whose mission is to advance diagnoses and treatment for children with rare genetic diseases.  In addition to the central research projects of the Steet lab, this position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with clinical and molecular geneticists to better understand the genetic basis and molecular pathogenesis of inherited disorders.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with broad experience in tissue culture, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry.  Experience with genome editing, iPSC technology and/or lysosomal biology preferred.  The successful candidate will focus their efforts on the development of reporter systems and new cell-based models for lysosomal disorders and the identification of sensitive signaling pathways.  Applicants are expected to have a strong record of first author publications from their Ph.D. work, experience with molecular and cell biological techniques and skill in both written and verbal communication.
