Description:
The biochemistry division is seeking a biochemist to work with an experienced scientific staff on in-house development projects related to production of carbohydrate related enzymes, carbohydrate-based pharmaceuticals and glycoproteins vaccines. The individual in this position will also work as a member of the production team responsible for a diverse line of products.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Product Management responsibilities for several products in support of catalog sales.
• Writing and executing protocols with minimal guidance.
• Perform quality analysis utilizing HPLC, LCMS Single Quad System.
• Design and construction of expression constructs of the reconstructed genes.
• Expression, purification and biochemical characterization of the encoded enzymes.
• Maintain detailed documentation of working protocols, vialing records, and substrate inventory.
• Purifications are routinely done by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) or flash chromatography (FC).
 
Required Qualifications:
• MS in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology or relevant.
• Experience in molecular biology.
• Experience in protein expression in microbial systems.
• Familiarity with AKTA (GE Healthcare) FPLC equipment along with a practical understanding of chromatographic principles.
• Experience in life science industry preferred.
• Experience in animal experiments preferred.
•  "Good hands" at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments.
• Able to manage timelines productively and bring projects to completion.
• Demonstrate significant skills in production while adhering to safe laboratory practices and  environmental safeguards.

The organic synthesis division is seeking an organic chemist to work with an experienced scientific staff on in-house development projects related to production of structure-defined oligosaccharides and glycolipids, sugar nucleotides and their derivatives, carbohydrate-based pharmaceuticals. The individual in this position will also work as a member of the production team responsible for a diverse line of products.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Product Management responsibilities for several products in support of catalog sales.
• Writing and executing protocols with minimal guidance.
• Perform quality analysis utilizing LCMS Single Quad System.
• Maintain detailed documentation of working protocols, vialing records, and substrate inventory.
• Assist in developing new product components for Polymerase and NextGen Sequencing groups.
• Routine synthesis and purification of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides, continuing to improve purification techniques. Purification methods include PAGE, HPLC, FC, FPLC and SPE.
• Perform maintenance on DNA synthesizers and other lab equipment as required.
• Synthesis and purification of research substrates and cellular imaging products.

This sales support position will work closely with Chemily Production, Quality, Research, and Applications Development staff in order to successfully field customer inquiries and ensure the on-time delivery of products and services.
 
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development and understanding of specific customer needs, including the coordination of conference calls and visits to customers. This also includes the documenting and tracking of actions from these meetings.
• Work with Research and Applications Development in the coordination of customer-specific product development and support projects.
• Work with the Legal team to coordinate the internal review and execution of Confidentiality Agreements (CDAs) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).
• Work with the Production and Quality Departments in the management of specific customer supply demands, including those related to inventory and change management.
• Request and review product-specific documentation, including product specifications and Certificates of Analysis, for accuracy and readiness to send to customers.
• Provide detailed sales reports.
• Work with the Quality department and support the timely resolution of any customer-specific quality issues or requests, including those linked to Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and support the coordination of customer audits.
 
Required Qualifications:
• B.S. in the life sciences with experience in biochemistry or organic chemistry.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial setting in a customer management, or product
management-related position.
• Proficient with MS Office and experience with CRM and ERP systems.
• Be proficient in coordinating cross-functional teams in support of customer requirements.
